How to impress on social media? With Cinemagraph!

You may know them from Harry Potter, moving pictures that were previously only in our imagination.

Cinemagraphs has been trying to make its way in the marketing field since 2011.

We are always looking for something original to attract clients and consumers. This could be the way.

Cinemagraph is more of a hybrid photography that combines the best of photography with the part that is moving. Personally, what bothers me about video is that it takes really good equipment and a lot of time to achieve the quality of the photo. This is an elegant solution that has me excited to approach the world of video and offer something more to clients and advertising agencies.

Today's consumers are overwhelmed with text, images and videos, and we're usually trying to get their attention for split seconds. Cinemagraphs act as scroll stoppers (you pause when scrolling through social media) and also have higher click-through rates than photos, and that's what marketers are looking for.

Through movement you can not only attract attention but also tell a story. Marketing companies with cinemagraphs are seeing success, with numbers saying that the minimum increase in engagement is greater by 35% and up to 110% for successful ones. The increase is even greater if users can immediately click to read more or buy.

Wherever cinemagraphs can be used:

  • In digital

  • Websites, landing pages, and blogs

  • On Social Media

  • OOH (citylights, billboards)

What area of business can it be used for? Actually, for any, there are no limits to the imagination. From hotels where they move curtains, flowers. To tourism, where you can move clothes, the sea or the sky. To museums, clothing stores or the film and book industry, where you move posters.

Cinemagraph is used to highlight a special moment by isolating it in a continuous motion. It's not just instagram that goes against this by looping videos. For example, with champagne, it's bubbles in a glass. This can lead the viewer into the story and show them what to focus on. The goal of a cinemagraph is to tell a story and draw you into the action.

Their advantage is that they are without audio so they do not act annoyingly even after a long time.

They are cheaper than producing video of the same quality and their reach is better. What our clients often use is that when we build a set for a photo, we also use some moving element that is thought out in advance. This reduces the cost of producing cinemagraphs even further and the client gets both a photo that has a wide range of uses and a cinemagraph that complements the campaign.
